SUCCESSFUL PROJECTS
At present, our e.START concept has already successfully been tested and experienced at three European airports. How did it come about? Read for yourself!
e.START and e.COBUS alike
With an existing wide fleet of diesel powered COBUS,
our customer Geneva Airport had started the transition towards electric some years ago. Until today, we have delivered not less than 12 units of electric powered buses which is a combination of e.START (converted from existing diesel COBUS to electric) as well as brand new e.COBUS, with the aim to reach a fully electrified fleet by 2025. Let’s take this opportunity to say thank you to Geneva Airport for their continuous support and fruitful partnership!
2 e.STARTs at Salzburg Airport
Due to the requirements of the Austrian government,
Salzburg Airport already started the conversion to fully electric airport buses in 2018 and used our e.START concept, which converts diesel COBUSes to all-electric drive. This first e.START was handed over to the airport in August 2018. The second diesel-powered COBUS 3000 was delivered back to Salzburg in December 2020 as a completely refurbished e.START. We are very pleased that we were able to support Salzburg Airport in implementing the legal requirements!
How the electrification began
Our very first e.START test bus
was provided to our valued customer, Stuttgart Airport, in 2014 as part of an EU pilot project for electrically powered ground equipment. Due to the consistently positive results gained during this test phase, Stuttgart Airport switched completely to the e.COBUS 3000 in the following years. In the meantime, Stuttgart operates an impressive fleet of 18 e.COBUS 3000.
